Appliance Care

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of hobartappliancecare.com and the appliance repair services provided by Appliance Care (“we,” “us,” “our”) across Hobart, Portage, Merrillville, Valparaiso, Crown Point and greater Northwest Indiana. By submitting a booking request or engaging us for a repair, you (“you,” “the customer”) agree to these Terms.

1. Our Services

We provide repair services for household fridges, washing machines, ovens, dishwashers, dryers and vacuums, carried out by our technicians at your property.

2. Booking and Quotes

You can request a booking through our website, by phone, or by other contact methods we make available. We aim to provide an upfront, flat quote after our technician has diagnosed the fault, before any repair work begins, so you can approve the cost with no surprises.

3. Access to the Property

You are responsible for ensuring a technician can safely access the appliance at the agreed appointment time, either in person or through an onsite contact you have arranged (see Section 4). If access cannot be gained at the agreed time, a call-out fee may apply for the wasted visit, and the appointment will need to be rescheduled.

4. Bookings by Landlords and Property Managers

If you are booking on behalf of a tenant or another occupant, you confirm you are authorised to arrange the repair, and that invoicing and approval will be handled as agreed between us at the time of booking.

5. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work, using a payment method we accept, unless a different arrangement (such as invoicing a landlord or property manager) has been agreed in advance. Prices quoted are valid for the job described; additional faults found during the repair will be quoted separately before proceeding.

6. Our Guarantee

Work we carry out is backed by our 12-month guarantee on parts and labour for the specific fault repaired, unless otherwise stated at the time of the job. This guarantee does not cover unrelated faults, misuse, or damage occurring after our repair for reasons outside our control.

7. Warranty Claims

Where you ask us to assess or repair an appliance still under a manufacturer or retailer warranty, we will advise you honestly whether the repair is likely to be covered. We are not responsible for a retailer’s or manufacturer’s decision to accept or reject a warranty claim.

8. Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know with as much notice as possible. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in a call-out fee for future bookings.

9. Honest Advice on Repair vs Replace

Where a repair is not a sensible option — for example, on an ageing appliance where the cost of repair approaches the cost of replacement — we will tell you honestly, rather than carrying out unnecessary work.

10. Liability

We take reasonable care when working in your home. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any loss or damage arising from our services is limited to having the relevant work re-performed, or to the amount you paid us for that job, except where liability cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

11. Your Consumer Rights

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any right or remedy you have under that law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the most recent revision.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States.
